One of the best times of year to have a wedding is during the summer. Sure, you risk the chance of having a wedding during a heat wave or other bizarre weather conditions, but the beauty of the season trumps any issues that may come up. Due to certain restrictions, you may have chosen to have a wedding that falls right in between the end of summer and autumn.
More and more couples are choosing to have weddings at this time for many reasons. One main reason is the flexibility that the couple has at the end of the summer – usually the weather is really nice, potential guests have days available to attend and waiting a few extra summer months can be more cost effective. A lot of photographers and other wedding specialists come with discounts after peak wedding months.
Here a few ideas for your late summer wedding:
- Pick a banquet hall that can accommodate the number of people you have – you don’t want anyone feeling like they’re being crowded in.
- Use a color palette that complements the transition from late summer in autumn – muted pinks, reds and oranges would be delightful and make a soft push towards the burnt colors of the fall.
- Keep the colors as a theme throughout the wedding and design. You don’t want to pick colors that don’t look sensational together.
- Serve a selection of beverages that reflect the end of the summer – perhaps instead of light beer at the bar, serve some drinks with gusto and a darker complexion. They transition incredibly well into to fall and (depending on the courses) will accent the red meats that your reception has too.
- Don’t be afraid to utilize non-traditional colors for your wedding dress – in the late summer, the colors you have to choose from a chart don’t have to be taken from a standard set.
